In its 18th Quinquennial Session on Sunday, September 18, 2011, the Southern Union Conference elected Dr. Ron C. Smith, D.Min, Ph.D, president. Smith will be replacing current president Gordon Retzer who has chosen to retire.

Thank you for trusting us, says Smith, and by Gods grace we want to be loyal, faithful and committed to your charge.

The session, chaired by North American Division president Dan Jackson, also returned Treasurer Randy Robinson, Under treasurer Dennis Millburn, and Association Treasurer Carlos Salazar to office. The election of executive secretary will take place tomorrow, September 19.
