2 Teachers Commisioned During Camp Meeting

Two teachers fromMiami Union Academy, RosalindCamelita Flemming , were commissioned as educators in theSeventh-day Adventist church. The service was held on the first weekend ofSouthaterns Camp Meeting. EugeneBrewer, Ed.D. delivered the commission service meassage.

Rosalind Camelita Flemming, born in Anguilla, British West Indies, is thesixth of 12 children. She was married to the late Giles Flemming. From thisunion, she was blessed with two children, Desrie Flemming- Shettlesworth andVern Flemming.

After the death of her husband, Rosalind was impressed to send herchildren to Miami Union Academy despite the hardship of being a single parent.She had the confidence that God would provide for her family.

Fleming holds a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education fromFlorida International University located in Miami, Fla. In 2000, Southeasternhired her to serve as the first grade teacher at Miami Union Academy, theposition she currently holds.

Rosalind is a member of the Tabernacle Church in North Miami, Fla.where she has serves as Adventurer counselor, she has also served as treasurerand Home and School Leader. Teaching children is her passion. She thanks God forthe privilege of working in His vineyard.

A native of Jamaica, Hope Payton developed a passion for teaching at anearly age. Upon graduation from high school she attended Mico Teachers Collegein Jamaica, where she graduated with a certificate in primary education.

Hope continued her studies at the Passley Gardens Teachers college inJamaica and graduated with the diploma in primary teacher education.

She holds a bachelor of arts degree in science education form the Universityof the West Indies and a master of arts degree in curriculum and instructionfrom Grand Canyon University, located in Phoenix, Ariz.

Hopes teaching experiencespans over a period of 30 years. Her commitment to teaching is underscored bythe number of years that she been an educator. She experiences a natural joy inteaching students, whereby she is able to stimulate within them a healthycuriosity and a desire to learn. As a result, she makes a great effort to keepabreast of new information in order to sustain the momentum of their learningexperiences. Hopes ultimate goal is to be a faithful servant of God and to besaved in His Kingdom.
