The Miami Union Academy School of Technology (www.secsda.org/muatech) recently received a software grant from the TestOut Software Company (www.testout.com).
The grant awarded 20 student licenses, a value of $2000.00, of their A+ Certification Suite. The suite provides training for the CompTIA A+ Certification Exam. Students will be able to access hundreds of hands-on lab scenarios, multimedia instructional materials (such as videos, animations demonstrations etc.), and certification exam preparation tools.
The CompTIA A+ certification exam validates the knowledge and abilities of an entry-level Computer Engineer with six months of on-the-job experience. Individuals that acquire A+ certification often go on to become Computer and Network Engineers.
There are two exams in the current A+ certification program: A+ Core Hardware exam and A+ OS Technologies exam. The A+ exams test the following areas of knowledge: installation, configuring and upgrading, diagnosis and troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, motherboard, processors and memory, printers, basic networking, OS fundamentals and networks. |
