The Salem Seventh-Day Adventist Church recently celebrated its Sabbath School Community Guest Day. They considered this a miracle since two weeks before, south Florida had experienced the deadly wrath of Hurricane Wilma, a category two (2) hurricane, which left South Florida devastated and many of Salems members without electricity or water.

During the Divine Hour Salem honored E. Pat Larkins, City Commissioner District Four. He was presented with a plaque and a copy of the book Desire of Ages. The members of Salem expressed their gratitude to him, for his thirty years of service to the City of Pompano Beach and the Broward County communities.

Elder Gordon L. Retzer, President of the Southern Union Conference, was the speaker. He presented a timely message based on Revelation 7 and entitled, Through Great Tribulation.

Elder and Mrs. Retzer later joined us for a fellowship lunch, and afterwards, met with the Sabbath School Department to remind them of the mission of the church. He left the members with much to think about.
