Dr. Tonya Young-Henley, of Family Physicians Group, provided
the residents of central Florida with 500 FREE flu shots on Saturday,
January 27, 2007 at the Mt. Sinai Seventh-day Adventist Church. Every
year in the United States, on average, more than 200,000 people are
hospitalized from flu complications, and about 36,000 people die from
the flu.

October or November is the best time to get vaccinated, but getting
vaccinated in December or even later can still be beneficial since the
height of  influenza activity occurs in February or later in most years.
Though it varies, flu season can last as late as May.

“This is my ministry” exclaimed Dr.  Young-Henley is a graduate of
Oakwood
College
and the University of Florida School of Medicine. She
completed her residency in Family Medicine at Florida Hospital, which is
the largest hospital in the country, in 2001.

Founded in 1987, Family Physicians Group is one of Central Florida’s largest
private group practices. More than 120 providers offer healthcare services to
thousands of patients from 25 office locations throughout Orlando, Altamonte
Springs
, Apopka,  Edgewood, Kissimmee, Oviedo, Winter Park, The Villages
and Tampa Bay
